Implementing Business Models Into Operations: Impact of Business Model Implementation on Performance

چکیده

Business models (BMs) help firms to translate abstract strategic decisions into their daily operations. Because BMs mediate between strategy and operations, BM innovation involves both high-level experiments low-level implementation operations technologies. However, most existing empirical studies regarding focus exclusively on management marketing theory. This article examines whether the performance implications of experimentation are mediated by time effort spent implementing operating enterprise architectures. We adopt an approach, analyzing results a large-scale, representative survey among European small medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In line with literature, research confirms that spending experimenting new has positive impact firm performance. An important finding is in part (i.e., translating architectures). provides support for argument not just matter thinking components architecture, but also involve aligning Our findings call future process from business modeling, architecting engineering perspective, information exchange, processes, supporting IT applications infrastructure.
